Do you have elementary, middle or high school children who enjoyed the Chattanooga Chase?

If so, there are plenty of additional CTC events your kids might enjoy.

The CTC’s largest races include events designed for younger runners.

  • The Chattanooga Chase (of course!) features a 1-mile heat designed for young runners and their families.
  • The Cam Run on August 24, 2024 features a 1-mile kiddie steeplechase with hay bales, bubbles and other fanfare.
  • The Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon’s Junior Marathon on November 9th enables young runners to participate in a cumulative mileage challenge. Then, they complete a one mile loop on race day to finish -- and receive a medal - with other Half and Full Marathon finishers.

The club also coordinates and manages youth programs throughout Chattanooga. The most well known is a race series offered in September for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Known as the Elementary Cross Country Series, it is open to all local schools and is held at Camp Jordan.

  • The cost is $1; students can participate in any or all events.
  • During last year’s 2023 series, over 750 kids participated.
  • The dates for 2024 are September 5th, 19th, 26th and October 3rd. (Elementary coaches will receive more information on August 1 to share with their students and parents.)
  • On the last night of this series, there is an all-comers race where coaches, siblings and parents are invited to join their child on a 1-mile course.  All for $1 per registrant.
