A year-long effort by 103 dedicated runners paid off at the 2024 Missionary Ridge Road Race. Battle for Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Track Club’s yearly race series, concluded a stellar season with the biggest, best series medal ever offered and more than double the number of finishers from the previous year! This year marked the first time the race series welcomed a business sponsor and their support helped make this our best season yet. Jay Hudson Homes – Keller Williams Realty brought energetic, smiling volunteers to several CTC races and helped promote the races in the series to their extensive, local audience.
Beginning with Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon, Half marathon, and Ft. Oglethorpe 5k in November, race series participants showed up in early spring for the Chickamauga Chase in April, then enjoyed a warm, August sunrise from the top of Missionary Ridge before crossing the finish line and claiming their Battle for Chattanooga medal. Missionary Ridge Road Race enjoyed a great turnout and featured several new enhancements for participants including finisher medals for all racers and a picnic compliments of the CTC’s membership committee volunteers. It was the perfect race to reward the work and dedication of our race series finalists.
We’re planning the next season of Battle for Chattanooga race series. It all kicks off this November at the 2024 Battlefield Marathon, Half marathon and Ft. Oglethorpe 5k. All you have to do to join the series is complete any one of the timed events at the race, that’s it. CTC volunteers will keep track of your progress as the series continues.
