Hope, Health and healing Trail Run

The Hope, Health and Healing Train Run and Fun Run will take place at Haig Mill Trail on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 9 a.m. Haig Mill park and trail are a great venue for being outdoors in a beautiful setting while staying socially distanced. This event is intended to be a source of healing for the community and to promote healing among the patients who receive free healthcare at the DEO Clinic. Those who cannot be present on September 10 can purchase a sign to honor or remember someone important to them. The sign will be displayed at the event, and the proceeds will provide health to someone from our community. This event will benefit the DEO Clinic, a free medical clinic inside of the Mack Gaston Community Center. The DEO Clinic was established in 2005, and serves adults from Whitfield and Murray Counties who have lower incomes and no insurance. With a small staff and about 70 volunteers, DEO is open Monday - Thursday every week to provide compassionate care for basic health concerns. Last year 1124 people received 2225 appointments and lab visits through the generosity of this community and DEO Volunteers. Race Day Schedule of Events: 9:00 AM: Trail Run begins 9:15 AM: Fun Run begins Awards will be given for 1st Place Overall Male and Female, plus placements in each age category.
