For Immediate Release

The 26th annual Sports Barn Turkey Trot 8K race will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 22 with the main event set to begin at 9 a.m.

The race, the largest road race in Chattanooga, starts and finishes at the Sports Barn East on Lee Highway. It’s considered to be a fast course, but there are a few hills in the middle miles over near Brown Acres Golf Course. Parking is available at Sam’s Club, located just across the street.

Pre-registered packet pickup will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Sports Barn East and race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. on Thursday.

While the main race is set to begin at 9, a one-mile fun run and the Kiddie K will begin at 8:30. A three-mile walk is set to start about 8:45.

Proceeds from this year’s race benefit the National Kidney Foundation.

Rodney Stoker is the defending champion after posting a winning time of 27:18 in 2017. Seth Carley and Peter Dalton followed with times of 27:57 and 28:08, respectively.

Dylan Hassett was the women’s winner and second overall in 2017 with a time of 27:47. Two-time defending champ Jessica Marlier was second in 30:05 while Rachel Mason was third in 30:51.
