Outdoor Gear Expo at Chattanooga Market July 2

Chattanooga– The Southern Off-Road Bicycling Association (SORBA) Chattanooga chapter will be hosting the second annual Singletrack Mind Outdoor Gear Expo at the Chattanooga Market on July 2, 2006 at the First Tennessee Pavilion from noon to 5 p.m.  The Outdoor Gear Expo is aimed at all outdoor enthusiasts from mountain bikers to hikers, kayakers to equestrians.  The Expo will feature the latest in outdoor recreation equipment with local and national vendors on hand to showcase their products.  There will be demonstrations, a silent auction of top-notch gear packages and activities for people of all ages.  Silent auction packages will have gear from Suck Creek Cycles, River City Bikes, Rock Creek Outfitters, Owen Cyclery, East Ridge Bicycles, REI, and more.

Singletrack Mind is an initiative begun in 2004 from a review of the state of mountain biking in the metro area and finding that there is less than 10 miles of legally accessible singletrack trail open to mountain bikers. To remedy this SORBA-Chattanooga developed the initiative to increase the quantity and quality of sustainable singletrack trails. The goal is to access (open or build) 100 miles of trails for mountain biking in the greater Chattanooga area by the year 2010.  All money raised at the Singletrack Outdoor Expo will be used to support SORBA-Chattanooga’s trail building and maintenance.
