For Immediate Release

The 2015 Signal Mountain Pie Run 10K will be held on Saturday, October 24 with the 6.2-mile race starting at 8 a.m. sharp.

The race, which includes one of the most challenging and scenic courses of any race on the Chattanooga Track Club schedule, is a no-frills event with no T-shirts and no age group awards, but a low entry fee of $10.

Every runner who is pre-registered will receive a freshly-baked apple pie from the Bread Basket.

The race starts and finishes right by the Signal Mountain Athletic Club, which used to be the old Signal Mountain Junior High, at 315 Ault Road.

It’s a prediction run and prize money of $50, 30 and 20 will be paid to the top three who come closest to predicting their finish times.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Mountain Education Foundation, which helps fund the public schools on Signal Mountain.

While the race begins at 8, race-day registration will be held from 6:45 until 7:30 a.m.
Unique awards will be presented to the overall, masters and grand masters winners for males and females.

Geno Phillips was the overall winner in 2014 with a time of 35:04 while Sarah Woerner was the women’s winner after finishing 12th overall in 42:19.
