2015 King of the Mountain

For Immediate Release The 11th Annual King of the Mountain road race will be held high atop Lookout Mountain on Saturday, May 9 with the four-mile main event beginning at 8:15 a.m. The race, a challenging circular route that starts with a nice climb for the first mile or so followed by a flat mile through Point Park before finishing with a downhill last mile, benefits the scholarship fund for the Good Shepherd School. The race begins and ends at the Lookout Mountain Town Commons, located at 710 Scenic Highway. In addition to the four-mile main race, there will also be a one-mile fun run/walk that will start at 9 a.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 9:30. This race is part of the Battle of Chattanooga. Matt Jenkins is the defending overall winner of this event as he posted a time of 22:47 in 2014. Jessica Marlier was the women's winner a year ago in 23:55 after also winning in 2013 with a time of 24:57.
