For Immediate Release

The annual Signal Mountain Pie Run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 with the 10K prediction run slated to begin at 8 a.m.

The race, where proceeds benefit the Mountain Education Foundation, starts and finishes at the Signal Mountain Athletic Club, located at 315 Ault Road.  That's the old Signal Mountain Junior High School.  The 6.2-mile run may be the most scenic on the Chattanooga Track Club schedule as it offers breathtaking beauty of the Tennessee valley from the route that runs along East Brow Road.

This course has rolling hills, including significant climbs in the first and last miles.  Prize money will be offered to the top three finishers who come closest to their predictions with $50 for first, $30 for second and $20 for third.  No watches will be allowed and qualifiers must finish in less than 70 minutes.

Race day registration will be held from 6:45 until 7:30 a.m. at a nominal cost of $10.  Runners can all register at

Homemade apple pies from the Bread Basket will be awarded to the runners.

Geno Phillips was the overall winner in 2013 with a time of 35:52 while Jessica Marlier was the first female, finishing fifth overall in 37:24.
