For Immediate Release

The 29th annual Pumpkin Run 10K road race will be held at the Johnson Mental Health Center on Saturday, October 11 with the 6.2-mile race starting at 9 a.m.

The race, surely the fastest and most flat course in Chattanooga, starts by the guard shack in front of Johnson Mental Health Center, which is located at Moccasin Bend on the south end of Pineville Road. It goes north for 3.1 miles before making a U-turn and heading back to the finish.

The registration fee is $30 between now and Saturday while race day fees increase to $35, which includes a technical T-shirt. Proceeds from the race benefit the clients at Johnson Mental Health Center.

Go to the Chattanooga Track Club website at to register. Race day registration will be held in the gym from 7:30 until 8:45 a.m.

Pre-race packet pickup will be held on Friday, October 10 from 4-6 p.m. at the Downtown Sports Barn.

Justus David is the defending overall winner after posting a time of 32:49 last year while Jessica Marlier was the women’s winner in 2013 with a time of 37:31, which was 10th overall.

While the main 10K race starts at 9, there will also be a 5K untimed walk at the same time while the one-mile Family Fun Walk is set for 9:15.
