The 10th Annual King of the Mountain race will be held on Saturday, May 10 with the start and finish of the challenging four-mile race at the Lookout Mountain Town Commons, located at 710 Scenic Highway.


The race has an uphill start before going through parts of Point Park before a fast and downhill finish.  The four-mile race is set to begin at 8:15 a.m. with a one-mile fun run/walk is set for 9.


This race is the second leg of the Battle of Chattanooga series and it benefits the scholarship fund at Good Shepherd School.


Patrick Hall was the winner last year with a time of 21:38 while Geno Phillips was the runner-up in 21:52.  Jessica Marlier was the overall women's winner a year ago as she finished sixth overall with a time of 24:57.  Debby Vannoy was second in 26:12.

Directions on how to get to the start included going up Lookout Mountain via Scenic Highway past Ruby Falls.  The starting line is located just past the fountain at the Commons right next to the ballfields and playground.
