Exclusive spots available for the sold out Chickamauga Battlefield Runs

Chattanooga, Tenn. – One of the most popular running events in our area, the Chickamauga Battlefield Half and Full Marathon, is sold out.  However, runners still have an opportunity to register for the Saturday, November 9 event through a joint venture with the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Chattanooga Track Club.

Limited registration numbers are available through Miracle Team, runners who commit their time and energy to raise funds that benefit medical services and support the excellent care that is offered at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

To secure a registration number for the full and half marathons along with the added 5K for 2013, participants are asked to raise at least $250 by November 6.  A Junior Marathon is also available for younger runners ages 6 to 12 years old who want to participate on behalf of Children’s Hospital.  By becoming a Miracle Team member, participants will have the ability to create their very own fundraising page on the foundation’s website to blast to family and friends for donations and support.  They can post information about their running progress, photos, and special stories about the marathon experience.

For more information on how you can join the Miracle Team and secure your spot in the 34th Annual Chickamauga Battlefield Full and Half Marathons, call Katie Jackson at 423-778-2679 or email  To learn more about the team, please visit  Participants can also go to to register.

Note to the media:  There are several individuals who have very personal reasons for why they are running and supporting Children’s Hospital.  Children’s Hospital Foundation (Katie Jackson 778-2679) will be happy to connect them with you if you would like to receive more information on their stories.  See below.

• Ruth Bosshardt is running the half marathon because she is proud to support Children’s Hospital at Erlanger and the little heroes who are fighting challenging battles every day.

• Claudia Pullen is running the 5K because her baby spent 2 months in the NICU, and she is grateful for the care she received at Children’s Hospital.

• Gavin Anchondo is running the junior marathon because he knows he is helping kids like his little brother.
