The Chattanooga Track Club has a position opening for a Timing Manager. This person’s main duty is the timing of all Chattanooga Track Club races and other events that contract for timing. The Timing Manager will be compensated for each event based on the number of participants and be paid an additional monthly fee to cover other duties. The club objective is that this position be filled by someone who is enthusiastic about helping the club support it’s mission of providing top quality events to the local running community and is looking for a long-term relationship.


·          Learn and become an expert on the IPICO chip timing system.

·          Learn and become competent at using RunScore to record results from all timing events.

·          Set up, time, and provide results for all CTC events and other events contracted (currently 17 / year).  Note that this requires attendance at 17 weekend events through the year.

·          Enter accurate data for all participants in each race to be timed.

·          Post results in a timely fashion after each event per race director’s instructions.

·          Maintain the timing equipment.

·          Develop documentation and provide training so there is a core group with needed expertise within the Chattanooga Track Club.

·          Research and become familiar with other event timing systems and providers to keep the club current with changes to systems.

·          Attend monthly Race Committee Meetings, Pre Race Planning Meetings, and other Track Club meetings to stay informed and provide input on issues related to timing and results.




·          The candidate must have exceptional computer skills and experience.  Familiarity with timing systems, and/or RunScore is a strong plus.


·          A record of reliability and being able to work independently along with attention to details and accuracy are required.


·          Good communication skills.


·          Highly motivated and able to drive projects to a successful and timely completion.


·          The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well with others.


·          Good problem solving ability - able to perform well under tight deadlines.


·          The candidate should have the ability to take initiative and work with little supervision.
