41st Running of the Chattanooga Chase


Chattanooga, TN - The 41st running of the Chattanooga Chase took place this morning at Riverview Park in North Chattanooga. This is the oldest race presented by the Chattanooga Track Club. The race includes an 8K-road race and a 2-mile walk with a 1-mile kid run. The 1-mile run could be included as part of the total mileage for the Chickamauga Junior Marathon.


Over 200 runners participated in the main event.  Bryson Harper won the 8K in a time of 27:07. The overall female winner was Tara Gietema with a time of 31:30. The Male Master’s winner was Hugh Enicks with a time of 28:06 and the Female Master’s winner was Christine Post in a time of 38:17. The Male Grand Master’s winner was Bill Warner in a time of 31:10 and the Female Grand Masters’ winner was Mesarash Henry in a time of 42:22.


The event benefits Community Reconciliation Inc., the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an alternative means to deal with juvenile non-violent crime. VORP gives juvenile offenders a second chance and reduces recidivism.
