Annual Cherokee Mile
By Run in Cherokee-No Fee, No Hills, No Awards

All the Chatt. runners: I am hosting my annual Cherokee Mile Saturday June 2 at Cherokee HS track in Canton, GA. It's informal but usually competitive (Mens record 4:17; womens ?? 4:40ish) and always fun. We run heats according to times if we have to. Otherwise it is one heat. No entry fees. No awards. No hills. Highlight is everyone comes back to my place on Lake Arrowhead for a cookout, beers (I mean gatorade) on the dock, swimming, beers (did I say that again?), boat rides etc. The lake is cool, clear, clean, deep and refreshing. Heck come on down just for the cookout!. From downtown Chattanooga it is 1:15 to my door in Waleska. Canton/Cherokee HS is another 20 minutes down the road. Sleep over is encouraged if you want beer (there's that word again). We do our annual Tower Run on Sunday AM. 10 mile out-back that includes a 2.5 mile climb up a dirt jeep road to (yep you guessed it - the Tower). Come join the fun even if it is part of the Chatt. running group I havent met before. It's a bunch of runners so everyone will be comfortable. Kevin Kelly
