Sponsors need to firm up their commitments and get their logos turned in by February 7th in order to be listed in the race applications for The BlueCrossBlueShield Market Street Mile and Mystery History Quest.

The BCBS Market Street Mile was developed in cooperation between the Chattanooga Track Club and BlueCrossBlueShield. The 2007 event marks the 2nd annual running.

The BCBS Market Street Mile is a one mile race (certified and chip-timed) starting on 2nd Street and Market, heading down Market,
right on 8th, right on Broad and back down broad to the finish almost back to 2nd street.

The race is run in gendered heats ages 11 and under up to 50 and over (mostly 5 year brackets).

Unique as a family event, the BCBS Market Street Mile enables both parents and kids not only to participate, but also to cheer each other on at both the start and at the finish of each runner's one-mile heat.

Participation was great last year looks to be even better this year with anywhere from 700 to 1000 participants expected.
There are four sponsorship levels still available for the event as of January 29: Presenting Sponsor ($5000), ChampionChip Timing ($3000), T-Shirts ($2000) or Awards ($1000).  Each of these sponsorship levels offer marketing and promotional opportunities that are unique.

Smaller sponsorship opportunites are also available and encouraged, including in-kind sponsorships where gifts, coupons, race support or other items of value are contributed toward the event, the participants (goodie bags) or to the club.

The entry fees for the BCBS Market Street Mile are only $4 for 17 and under and $6 for 18 and over (pre-registered), as a primary objective behind the event is simply to encourage participation as much as possible. This is one reason why sponsor support is so critical.

The Mystery History Quest, also part of the BCBS Market Street Mile, provides an opportunity for non-runners and parents with strollers to get out and enjoy the morning with a little friendly competion of their own
(more of a scavenger hunt than a race, that lets participants get a little exercize while also learning a bit of history about our city.

Because of the nature of these events, the number of participants and the marketing efforts to promote the events, the exposure advantages are
very good for sponsors wanting strong name recognition and association with a positive and fun program/event that is both family oriented and focused on running, walking and fitness.
