2019 Missionary Ridge Race

The 47th annual Missionary Ridge Road Race will be held on Saturday, August 10 with the out-and-back 4.7 mile race starting and finishing at Bragg Reservation.

The race, which benefits the American Red Cross and the Team Bruner Scholarship fund, begins at 8 a.m. with a one-mile fun run/walk set to begin immediately afterward at 8:05.

Early online registration is available until midnight on Thursday, August 8 while race-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. As has been the case in recent years, there's no parking at Bragg Reservation, but there will be a shuttle service running back and forth from McCallie School, located at 500 Dodds Avenue, starting at 6 a.m.

Awards will be presented to the overall male and female along with master and grand master age groups in addition to the usual age group awards.

There will also be cash rewards for the top three overall finishers, both male and female with first place earning $100, second place $65 and third place $35.

Pre-race packet pickup will take place on Friday, August 9 from 4-6:30 p.m. at Front Runner Athletics, 4251 Hixson Pike while packets can be picked up starting at 6:30 on Saturday. Race day registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 on Saturday.

Christian Thompson was last year’s overall winner in 23:49 while Paige Thompson was the women’s winner after taking 11th overall in 29:39. Lucas Cotter and Jennifer Huwe were both second a year ago with times of 24:57 and 31:01, respectively.

In addition to the usual age group awards, the annual Arnold Godwin Award will be presented to the oldest participant in memory of Godwin, who loved this race and ran it many times.
