The race, which is flat and extremely fast, runs through Heritage Landing and is limited to 175 entries. It is a perfect course for setting state records. There were 33 records broken in 2018, including 15 by females and another 18 by males.

Packet pickup on Saturday morning is from 6 until 7:15 a.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River Street. Race-day registration will also start then until the field fills up, but registration closes promptly at 7:15.

John Gilpin was last year’s overall winner in 9:51 while Chase Faudi and Kevin Huwe followed with times of 9:54 and 10:07, all state records for their respective ages.

Jennifer Huwe was last year’s female overall winner as she was 22nd overall in 12:07. Kathryn Vradenburgh, Kristen Bonsor and Emily Bell followed in 24th, 25th and 26th place overall with times of 12:16, 12:19 and 12:24. Those were all state records as well.

There will be a team competition this year. Each team will include five members, including at least two females.
