FAQ 


Q. Are dogs allowed in the races?

A. Dogs are NOT allowed on the race course for the safety of participants and pets. All events start together in very close, cramped, and crowded conditions. Dogs on a leash are welcome at the park and as spectators, but dogs' owners are fully responsible and liable for their pets at all times.

Q. Are baby joggers/strollers allowed in the 15K and 5K races?
A. Baby joggers/strollers are strongly discouraged in the timed events. However, we do encourage baby joggers/strollers in the Scenic Walk.

Q. Do I have to pay for my baby in the Scenic Walk?
A. Yes, but the entry fee is only $5 which includes a wee-ones t-shirt.

Q. Can someone ride a bike on the race course with me?
A. The Park is a beautiful place to ride a bike, however bicycles will not be allowed with participants on the course due to insurance regulations.

Q. Can I walk the 15K, Trail Race, or the 5K?
A. If you are a fast walker, you will be able to walk the 15K, Trail Race, or the 5K. The 15K course closes 2 hours and 15 minutes after the start which is a little over 14 minutes per mile. The Trail Race closes 2 hours after the start which is a fifteen minute mile. The 5K course closes 45 minutes after it starts which is a little over 14 minutes per mile.

Q. Can I run with my child in the Kiddie K?
A. Our insurance requires that everyone on our courses are registered, and adults are not allowed in the Kiddie K. However, if your child will not participate unless you are with them, you may stay with them but on the side so that you do not interfere with other participants. (The Kiddie K is held at the same time as the 15K, 5K, and Scenic Walk. If you plan to participate in one of these events, you will want to have another person stay with your child who is participating in the Kiddie K.)

Q. When will I find my finish time?
A. Preliminary results will be posted at the race as soon as they are known. If you should happen to place – please make every attempt to stay for the Awards Ceremony to receive your prize. We would love to get a picture of you claiming your award! Awards are schedule for 5k at 10:00 am, Trail at 10:15 am, and 15k at 10:30 am. Awards will NOT be mailed. If you are unable to stay, your award will be available at Fast Break Athletics the week following the race (4/23 – 4/29). They are located at 300 Cherokee Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37415 – please be sure to thank them for sharing their space!

Q. Will the final results be posted?
A . Final results will be posted on the Chattanooga Track Club website on race day under
‘Result’: www.chattanoogatrackclub.org. A notification will be posted on the Chickamauga Chase & Chattanooga Track Club Facebook pages.

Q. Can I pay my entry fee with a credit card?
A. You may pay with credit card at packet pick up on Friday, April 20 th (3 pm to 8pm – Whole Foods Market). There will be a $2.00 processing fee added to your charge. Credit card payment will NOT be accepted on race morning – cash or check only (checks payable to CTC).

Q. Can I pay my entry fee with cash before race day?
A. Yes. Cash or check will be accepted at packet pick up on Friday. Checks should be made payable to
CTC (Chattanooga Track Club). You may mail in a paper entry
(link: www.chattanoogatrackclub.org/races/applications/1980.pdf ) but it must be postmarked by FRIDAY, APRIL 13, 2018. Please send check (no cash via mail) with paper entry.

Q. When and where is Early Packet Pick up?
A. Packet pick up for the 2018 race will be at Whole Foods Market, 301 Manufacturers Road, Chattanooga, TN 37405. PLEASE PRESENT PHOTO ID. Parking is FREE and packets will be available from 3pm to 8pm. Whole Foods will also be providing our racers with a $5.00 pasta dinner from 4pm – 7pm. Pasta dinners will be available for purchase (racers & family/guests) at checkout on the 1st floor. Packet pick up and pasta dinner will take place on the 2nd floor. Race day volunteers will also be eligible for the pasta dinner on 4/20.


Q. Can I pick up my friend’s packet at Early Packet Pick up on the 20th?
A. YES. We would like to have as many packets as possible picked up on Friday to ease the process on race morning. HOWEVER – we will request to see permission in the form of a text, email, forwarded race confirmation. We will record the name of those picking up packets on someone else’s behalf.

Q. Do I have to pick up my packet at Early Packet Pickup on the 20th?
A. No. You may pick up your packet on race morning at Wilder Field beginning at 7:00 am. Please arrive early. The pick \up lines on race mornings can sometimes be long.


Q. Will I be able to register on race day?

Most likely. The cap for all entries is 2,000 (400 of which are assigned to the trail race). HOWEVER – please note that the entry fee is higher for walk up registration. Please also note that we cannot guarantee t-shirts or correct t-shirt size for walk up registrations. To be sure you receive a t-shirt and that it is in the size you request – please register by midnight, SUNDAY, APRIL 1.

Q. Are there restrooms at the start and on the course?
There are portable toilets at registration/packet pick up (Wilder Field). There are NOT toilets on the course and there are NOT shower facilities at the park.

Q. If I cannot come to the race, can I get my entry fee back or give my registration to someone else?
A. No. Entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred to another year.

Q. Does my entry fee include a t-shirt?
T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 1200 registrants. T-shirts will be ordered in early-April. If you do not register by midnight on Sunday April 1 st, we cannot guarantee you will receive the size you requested.

Q. Can I get a different size t-shirt than the one I put on my registration form?
A. Maybe. If there are t-shirts in the size you want to change for left after everyone has picked up their packets on race day, you may change. If there are none remaining, you will have to keep the one you requested.

Q. What if my t-shirt size isn't available at registration/packet pickup.
A. T-shirts are guaranteed to be available for the first 1200 registered, and those who do not register by Sunday April 1 st cannot be guaranteed the size they have requested due to shirt order being placed several weeks prior to the event. Please register early!
