The Chattanooga Track Club

Promoting Running and Fitness in Chattanooga

Founded in 1970, the Chattanooga Track Club (CTC) is a non-profit organization with the goal of promoting running, walking, and general fitness in the Chattanooga area. The club pursues this goal through a number of activities including weekly group runs, annual road races, youth programs, and social events.

Each year CTC produces a number of races, including the Scenic City Half Marathon, Chickamauga Chase, Raccoon Mountain, Chattanooga Chase, Market Street Miracle Mile, the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon, the Missionary Ridge Road Race, the Signal Mountain Pie Run, the Johnson Mental Health 10K, the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon & Half Marathon and the Wauhatchie Trail Run.  The club also assists numerous other organizations put on races to raise money or awareness for their causes.  

The Chattanooga Track Club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America and USA Track & Field.

About the organization. 

Leadership of the Chattanooga Track Club is by officers elected to a one-year term. Officer positions and their responsibilities are: 
President           -  manages meetings and operations of the club. 

President-elect   -  assists the president and becomes president the following year. 

Secretary           - manages records and club procedure. 

Treasurer           - oversees club finances. 

Vice-president of Races - leads a committee overseeing club races. 

Vice-president of Membership - leads a committee planning club member activities. 

Vice-president of Communication - leads a committee for club communication including social media. 

Governance of the Chattanooga Track Club is by an elected Board of Directors. There are twelve (12) directors each serving a two-year term. Responsibilities of directors include: 

1. Ensuring responsible use of CTC resources. 

2. Ensuring club events and programs are consistent with the CTC mission statement. 

Volunteers are needed to serve in these positions. In most cases the only requirements are current CTC membership and agreement to the responsibilities of the position as described in the CTC by-laws.
